This National Park is located in Monaragala District in Uva Province.The forest of Lunugamvehera consists of two areas. They are scrubdland and grassland areas. There are 43 spicies of mammals including Sri Lankan elephant, Wild boar, Sri Lankan Axis deer, Sambar deer, There are 33 spices of reptiles including Mugger crocodile. 183 spices of birds are found in the park including Painted stork and Grey heron.
